Sophie Bailes
Sophie bridges the world between science and technology to shape the future of digital CMC for both large and small molecules. Dedicated to accelerating how we develop, manufacture, and supply new medicines; she fosters high performing teams capable of delivering complex programs which have generated significant business value both for leaders and scientists. Her core focus areas are lab automation, data & AI; including predictive models, simulations, and digital twins. As an inspirational and versatile leader, Sophie has a track record of successful change programs to define and deploy strategic transformation, cultural change, and uplift in technology. Sophie has over 20 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry; she has a PhD in Analytical Chemistry with research focused on modelling separation mechanisms of complex polar molecules, she is a Chartered Chemist with Royal Society of Chemistry and holds a diploma in Business Management as a Chartered Manager with CMI. Sophie is a co-chair of the AZ Pride Ireland and UK group and is passionate about driving equality both inside and outside work.
