Roxanne Kunz is a Principal Data Scientist in the Process Development organization at Amgen with special expertise where chemistry, biology, and information technology intersect. She has over 18 years of experience working within the R&D space from drug candidate design and synthesis to preclinical CMC assessment. Her scientific experience spans diverse therapeutics such as small molecule inhibitors, peptides, oligonucleotides (RNA), hybrids, and biologics modalities. She leads interdisciplinary teams composed of lab and data scientists, designers, and software developers to build innovative software tools and digital capabilities that enable development of life-changing therapeutics for patients with grievous illnesses. Roxanne received her Ph.D. in organic chemistry at The University of Michigan and completed an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship with Professor David W.C. MacMillan (2021 Nobel laureate) at The California Institute of Technology where she developed an enantioselective organocatalytic cyclopropanation reaction. She has been passionate about discovering better medicines since the age of 10.
